Savannah is lucky to have so many great parks and playgrounds for kids. My kids have swung, spun, and raced through many of them ... and definitely have their favorites!
Here’s a list of our family’s top five favorite parks and playgrounds in Savannah and the reasons we love them:
Forsyth Park Playground
Location: 2 W. Gaston St., Savannah, GA 31401
Features:
2 playgrounds situated right in the middle of beautiful, historic Forsyth Park, with its paved sidewalks and lush greenery, are close to restrooms, a cafe and spray pool.
The newer playground:
-Gated and great for younger kids;
-Enough equipment to support a capacity of up to 300 children; including nine slides, 16 climbers and eight swings;
-Wheelchair accessible; and
-Rubber matting and mulch covered ground.
The second playground:
-Great for older kids
-Swings, climbing wall, and slides.
What my kids love: Going full force on the playground and cooling off in the spray pool!
What I love: The security of the gated playground and the beautiful scenery.
Lake Mayer Playground
Location: 1850 E. Montgomery Crossroads Savannah, 31406
Features:
-Three climbing structures, climbing walls, tunnels, swing sets for all ages, see-saw, and more;
-Mulch covered ground;
-Picnic tables;
-Two pavilions available for rent;
-Tennis courts, baseball field, hockey rink and lighted basketball courts;
-Paved jogging/bike trail with a fitness course (for your dog too);
-On-site restrooms;
-Lake & boat ramps

Hull Park
Location: 55th St./Atlantic Avenue, Savannah 31405
Features:
-Playground;
-Merry-go-round;
-Spray pool;
-Sheltered picnic area; and
-Baseball field
Daffin Park
Location: 1500 E Victory Drive, Savannah 31404
Features:
-80-acre park with two playgrounds;
-Public pool;
-Picnic area;
-Lake;
-Walking path; and
-Tennis courts.
Bonus: Catch a Savannah Bananas baseball game at Grayson Stadium!
West Chatham YMCA playground
Location: off Pooler Parkway between the YMCA and Pooler’s new municipal recreation complex
Features:
-Chatham County’s first play facility compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act;
-Open to all (whether a member of the YMCA or not);
-Music station;
-Tractor;
-Climbing wall;
-Therapeutic swings for special-needs kids; and
-Restrooms nearby at the Y
